"This is the first LOTH watch.
Made in Singapore.
Hand-finished in my humble home-workshop."
The Mosaic finish is free-styled entirely by hand.
This makes each LOTH watch 1 truly one of a kind.
This finishing is performed on the dial and balance bridge.
It represents the randomness of life — how each serendipitous moment comes together to form something beautiful...
...and how a change in perspective can make everything shine.
A polished bevel with internal angles is applied to the bridges — a hallmark of LOTH’s meticulous craftsmanship.
Unlike the standard 45-degree chamfers commonly seen in factory-finished watches, these bevels are cut extra wide and gracefully curved.
This distinctive approach purposefully increases the polished surface area that catches the light, ensuring it reflects beautifully from every angle.
The inclusion of sharp internal angles—a true test of hand-finishing skill—further elevates the movement.
These inward corners are notoriously difficult to execute and cannot be achieved by any machine on earth, serving as a signature of artisanal craftsmanship.
Every screw in our movement is finished by hand with careful attention to detail.
The slot is bevelled with a graver, creating sharp, clean lines. The circumference of the head is chamfered using an Arkansas stone, refining the edge with precision. Once prepared, each screw is polished to a mirror finish by hand.
This process is not only about aesthetics. It protects the screw from corrosion and wear, ensuring its longevity over time.
Screw polishing is a small detail. But it reflects the care and discipline behind every part of the movement.
The ratchet and crown wheels are focal points within the movement, both functionally and visually.
Each is decorated with a fine snailing pattern, applied on the lathe with careful control. The crown wheel features a single, tight spiral that reflects light with a dynamic, radial effect.
The ratchet wheel is double snailed. This layered pattern creates a rich visual texture, adding depth and a sense of motion to the surface. It enhances the character of the movement and highlights the attention given to every detail.
Snailing reflects a long tradition in watchmaking. It brings precision, texture, and elegance to two of the most important wheels in the gear train.
